Venum Victory World Series will touch down in Debrecen, Hungary on 22nd August for the next leg of the international K-1 Rules Kickboxing tournament.
VVWS is an elimination tournament in two weight divisions: Dragon’s Series for -72.5 kg, and Rhino’s Series for -95Kg. Sixteen fighters in each weight division started the tournament. Every show features a four-man elimination tournament in both division along with two Superfights for a total of eight matches.
VVWS has already seen the first events of the tournament take place. In Milan, Italy there were six tournament fights in which Chingis Allazov and Tony Milanovic advanced, one ISKA world title fight, and a bout between Enriko Kehl and Giorgio Petrosyan.
In Split, Croatia on 30th May, an audience of 6,000 watched Chingiz Allazov score a big win over Ivan Vladimir. Luka Tomic (CRO) won in the –72.5kg division, and Igor Bugaenko (Belarus) impressively defeated French Champion Pacome Assi by first round TKO in the –95kg division. Both fighters qualify for the finals in Paris on 28th November.
In Debrecen, well-known Hungarians will be added into the -72.5 tournament as Norbert Balogh from the Fight Code series faces Abdallah Mabel from Cameroon, and Zsolt Benedek, the first Hungarian kickboxer in SUPERKOMBAT, takes on Mustapha Haida from Morocco. In the -92kg division, Hungarian Imre Torok will meet France’s Manu Payet, and Poland’s Kryspin Kalski will take on Turkey’s Gohkan Gedik.
In the prestige fight Hungary will also be represented, as multiple title holder Gábor Görbics will face Venum Team’s Medhi Zatout. Venum will have another team member in the Women’s match, as superstar Anissa Meksen returns against Sylwia Juskiewicz of Poland.
After the Debrecen show, Panama will be the next top. Paris, France will see the Finals of the tournament on 28th November.
