Venum Karate Team’s Vu Duc Minh Dack is an international figure in the world of karate, and a leader of France.
With more than ten years of competition under his belt, he is a legitimate threat to anyone in his division. Dack’s fluidity, speed and precision make him thrilling to watch perform kata from Gojo Ryu.
Dack hails from New Caledonia, where he was born in 1982. He began competing in individual kata as a Junior in 2002. Since then, Dack has consistently been on the podium in the Seniors with back-to-back wins of the European Championships from 2004 to 2008.
Next, Dack put the whole division on notice at the 2008 World Championships in the birthplace of karate, Japan, when he won the bronze medal in men’s individual kata. He went on to win silvers in both the 21st World Seniors Karate Championships 2012 and the 48th European Senior Karate Championships 2013.
Dack’s most recent conquest was the Port Moresby 2015 Pacific Games on July 13th. In the men’s individual, Dack claimed gold for New Caledonia, and added another in the team event when he joined forces with Kevyn Pognon and Arnaud Saturnin.
